Alexander Graham Bell’s 125 Year Old Recordings Digitally Restored Using 3D Imaging

Scientists at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory have restored 125 year old recordings from Alexander Graham Bell’s Volta laboratory using a system called IRENE/3D to capture high resolution images of the damaged media. It’s then repaired digitally and turned into audio. (This puts the USB turntable system I use to capture old vinyl to shame!)
